Biography

Aslıhan And Say is an internationally recognized flutist, soloist, and scholar whose career spans orchestral performance, solo appearances, and academic leadership. She is currently the principal flutist of the Tekfen Philharmonic Orchestra and the Cemal Reşit Rey Symphony Orchestra, and previously served as principal flutist of the Istanbul State Opera and Ballet Orchestra between 2016 and 2020.

She received her undergraduate education at the Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University Istanbul State Conservatory and continued her studies at the Hamburg University of Music and Theatre, where she completed her master’s degree. Her artistic excellence has been recognized internationally, including the “Rising Star” distinction awarded by Sir James Galway and the Gold Flute Headjoint Award at the 2012 Galway International Flute Festival.

Aslıhan And Say has performed extensively throughout Europe, North America, and Asia, appearing in major cultural centers such as Berlin, Munich, Hamburg, Milan, Amsterdam, Manchester, Lucerne, Pittsburgh, Taipei, and Shanghai. She has collaborated as a guest artist with prominent orchestras, including the NDR Symphony Orchestra, Istanbul State Symphony Orchestra, and Borusan Istanbul Philharmonic Orchestra, and has performed as a soloist with ensembles such as the Munich Chamber Orchestra. Her festival appearances include the Gstaad Menuhin Festival, the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival, Slovenian Flute Festival and other leading international events.

Alongside her performance career, she is an associate professor at the Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University Istanbul State Conservatory. She is frequently invited to serve as a jury member at international flute competitions and to present masterclasses worldwide, contributing actively to the development of the next generation of flutists.
